On November 8, 2007, the FCC issued an order lifting the stay on intermodal Local Number Portability (LNP), more specifically wireline to wireless LNP. The result is that all telecommunications carriers will be required to provide wireless LNP within 30 days of the publication of the FCC's order in the Federal Register. Aspects to consider in preparing your company for intermodal LNP are as follows:
1. Does your telecommunications switch have LNP functionality?
2. Has your company made the necessary contractual arrangements with an LNP database provider?
3. Has your company performed the necessary translations to provide intermodal LNP?
4. Have your central office and administrative staff been trained to handle porting requests?
5. Has your company established a relationship with the Number Portability Administration Center (NPAC)?
Is your company prepared for wireless local number portability? If not, Martin Group can help. Martin Group can assist your company in establishing LNP service in compliance with the FCC's fast approaching deadline. Contact Martin Group today for your LNP needs:
