The discussion will proceed to their vision for new services and potential strategic opportunities to address the business challenges. This input will develop the framework for the remainder of the planning session.

Once the framework for the 5-year plan is drafted, the next phase is to review and define applicable network elements, systems, processes and data models necessary to fulfill your business’s future service needs. This discussion will also cover the initial prioritization of projects / exchanges within the 5-year planning horizon.
5-Year Planning

The next phase of 5-year planning is to layout the proposed plan for technological upgrades to enable deployment of existing and new services. As part of this process, the impacts of regulatory, cost settlement and technology trends plus opportunities to utilize stimulus grants/loans (in addition to traditional financing from RUS, CoBank, RTFC or other traditional telecommunications lenders) will be reviewed and discussed.
5-Year Planning (concluded)

The final step in the planning process is refining the proposed 5-year plan based on the client’s priorities and desires. The deliverables include exchange-by-exchange build out cost estimates and reports designed to improve management of network expenditure dollars, predict future capital requirements and eliminate unexpected budget spikes, anticipate emergency situations that could impact the customer experience and streamline maintenance operations.
